My name is JoaquÃn Lagos, I was born in Buenos Aires. Since I was a child I naturally was very attracted by music. Also I became a great science fiction fan: books, movies, TV shows, games, everything about it. When I was teenager I got hooked up with the progressive space rock from the '70, bands such as Hawkwind, Pink Floyd, Ash Ra Tempel, Tangerine Dream, Gong and even Black Sabbath. Later I discovered an amazing music style: Ambient Dub. This influence together with the advent of new technologies decided me to start a solo project.
I began Spacebum in 2000. In order to produce atmospheric space music I use an isolation method. I use to shut myself up during entire days in my study, trying to generate an ethereal space inside. I enjoy it very much, it's like to travel on a spaceship.
In 2001 I completed my first production ' Starends ' , and the second one in 2002 ' Night at Sky Beach '. Both albums are full of space ambient, cold techno and dark dub tracks mixed up with some movie quotes. They were distributed in independent way, obtaining good acceptance. In 2003 I participated on a various artists album, 'Chill Out Asia', published by Pattaya label.
