The way to keep people in line is to scare the shit out of 'em

About Me

Traviole is a 32 year old Irish derelict...living in France for the last seven years, no doubt through some confused administrative fluke! He somehow keeps it together and loves all his friends...He's a big child! Don't judge him, LOVE him!! (D'ailleurs, il est à peu près bilingue mais préfére s'exprimer en anglais sur myspace...ceci dit, pour tous d'entre vous, les francophones, qui passez par là, sachez qu'il serait bien content de vous connaître aussi. ciao!)

My Interests

Traviole likes to play bass, guitar and piano in more adventurous moments. He also steals beats from good drummers so he doesn't use Vic Firth big-ass drumsticks or Pearl drums or Sabian cymbals. He composes songs that are as catchy as an STD. Check out my musical project:www.myspace.com/beattheknaveAlso, he likes films a lot (especially arty shit), reading books, drinking, wasting valuable time, cleaning up messes he's ultimately responsible for...(Ecoute, la vie me botte!) Anything that involves news or politics, he tends to forget in the two seconds that follow. Huh?

I'd like to meet:

children are innocenta teenager's fucked up in the headadults are even more fucked upand elderlies are like children

Music:

Traviole's biggest influences and assets would be the old reliables: Pixies, Sonic Youth, The Cure, Talk Talk, Morrissey. Sarcactic and pathological artists like Mike Patton and small-time but big-geniuses like Cathal Coughlan. Vic Chesnutt, Modest Mouse, Interpol, Midlake and any of Mark Kozelek's projects are just tremendous...Xiu Xiu, Iron and Wine, The National...but enough is enough..you already know too much! Traviole hates reading lists of bands and artists...as though it were proof of how versatile and cultivated he is!

Movies:

Traviole is very fond of Neil la Bute, David Lynch and Mike Leigh movies. In short, twisted, weird and kitchen-sink drama. Gritty stuff that makes sure you'll feel something when you watch! Michel Gondry is a miracle worker...Other favourite flicks include 'The Machinist' by Brad Anderson, 'Last Night' by Don McKellar and 'Intimacy' by Patrice Chéreau. If you like these, you'll probably get on with Traviole, all these self-loathing films say so much...

Television:

Dallas, The A-Team, The Bold and The Beautiful, Curb your Enthusiasm, Little Britain, Catherine Tate, The Fast Show, Father Ted, Black Books, Three's company (Imagine "Mr. Roper" with Jon Ritter's fab gay voice), The Simpsons, Family Guy, Les Robins des Bois (En France seulement) ... mostly comedy shows, as you can tell, but Traviole, with two kids, has little time for TV these days! And besides, TV is kinda shit in all fairness...

Books:

Michel Houellebecq, Philip K. Dick, Albert Camus, Bret Easton Ellis, Oscar Wilde, Milan Kundera, Fyodor Dostoevsky, John Banville, Jorge Luis Borges, Charles Bukowski (even though he was such a fucking asshole!), Tahar Ben Jalloun...

Heroes:

Now this list is one worth a read though it will mean absolutely nothing to anyone except the people listed so tough shit for all you cyber fiends...you didn't make the short list yet...but...HEY! Keep tryin'! In no particular order but all heroes for Traviole: Paul Burke, Shane Doran, Niall Murphy, Bobby Cogan, Trevor Donovan, Terry Cullen, Laure Beaurin, Sylvain Pourciel, Julie O'Neill, Andrew Richards... Have you heard of them? My tips for the top!! I find that good friends make reliable heroes.
