About Me

It all started in the late 70ies/early 80ies when zid aka Frank Kumm got in touch with the different flavors of musical sounds. Mainly guided and formed by the music taste of his elder brother, he dived into music from bands like Kiss, Queen, Kraftwerk, Neue Deutsche Welle, etc. This was also the time when he was first bemused by the wonderful, repetitive music of video games. First amazed by different classic arcade machines, later electric powered by his Atari 2600 and finally inspired by his Amiga computers and the various Demo & Intro muzaxs.
Later in the mid 80ies he also got in touch with early hip hop/breakdance music (Grand Master Flash, Rock Steady Crew, Beat Street!). Around that time he saw his auntie playing this crazy electronic music instrument, also known as electric organ. So at the age of 11 he started how to play that thang and tormented it for another 6 years. In his teens he deeply diped into Metal music of various kinds until he discovered the musical universe of Björk.
By that time he got interrested in electronic music again and over the years he evolved his musical taste (and gear park..) to his current interpretation of lofi club music. Never forgetting his musical roots, especially the formative years in the Commodore Amiga scene, you can nowadays listen to his live sets as a mixture of techno /acid / 8bit-lofi (a Gameboy is always on board) music. Well, indeed there is also sometimes a trancy touch in his songs :)
