No Change for Currency is a political ska-crust band from North Texas formed by James Eidson (guitar, vocals) and Sean Mehl (guitar). Not long after, Justin Wilson joined on drums and the band began writing songs of their own. With angst driven vocals and politically conscious lyrical content, No Change for Currency quickly developed a reputation of being militantly radical in their beliefs. Their anti-capitalism, militant environmentalism, anti-theism, and Anarcho-political ideals reflected the band’s fervent conviction in the power of social change through artistic expression. February of 2005, Justin Wyatt joined on bass, completing the line-up. Later that year, No Change for Currency recorded and released the two-song CD entitled The Rectal Rot EP. At this time, James ceased his guitar playing in the band in order to focus entirely on singing. August of 2006, Josh Scum joined as a second guitar player, making No Change for Currency a full five-piece. One month later, Nice Brice replaced Justin Wyatt on bass due to creative differences. Justin went on to pursue his solo musical career. On March 31, 2007, No Change for Currency self-released their first full-length CD, Destruction/Creation. The CD included a collection of songs written from 2005 to 2007 as well as solo acoustic songs written by Sean Mehl as the Million Dollar Terrorist . James is also involved in numerous side-projects including his solo project, Collective, Collective! , and the shoegaze/folk project, Gula Amor , with singer Ashley Johnson. No Change for Currency will be going on a Gulf and East Coast tour with Excretion in the summer.
