We started off by the name Saboteur and formed in mid August 2004. Its consistency was Alyssa on guitar, Matt (formerly of Federal Offense, Nuclear Addicts etc.) on bass, Anthony on drums, and Stefan on lead vocals. After a good two months or so of getting used to the chemistry of the band, Erin entered as the second vocalist. Then Tick joined in as a second guitarist for a few months before he moved to Portland. Anthony left the band to persue a tattooing career and Stefan took over on drums, while still doing his vocals. Then in Februaury of 2009 we added the very talented Oscar (also in Warcola) as our second guitarist, and decided to move on as a four peice without Erin in the days to come, with Alyssa splitting the vocal load with Stefan. Although it was very hard to give up our previous name, (Saboteur) it was still done out of the fact that not only is there another local band by that name but a few bands(old and new) that went by that name as well. We feel that the name Just Another Consumer is very honest to the content of our lyrics and the content of our every day lives. We are not placing ourselves upon a pedestal by talking about the political issues we do. Day in and day out we are just marginalized humans who buy for comfort rather than defiantly living for just that. In the end we're the very epitome of what we discuss as its a continuous struggle to throw off these expected and ingrained shackles. We're all Just Another fucking Consumer and our music stems from that very frustration. So far we've had the opportunity to play with some great bands: Uncurbed, Star Strangled Bastards, Crimenes de Guerra, Human Order, No Slogan, Routine Therapy, Forever Mourne, Resigned to Fate, R.A.M.B.O., Dinosaur Dinosaur, Expresion Clandestina, Waking Terror, Red Devil,Two Funerals, Menstrual Tramps,Red Thread,Condenada,Cojoba, Total Fucking Destruction, Dissent, Blank Walls, Tolar, Druids on Parade,PLF,Kill The Client,After the Bombs, Kontempt, The Holy Mountain, Krum Bums,Backwoods Payback, Skullhammer,ANS,Nux Vomica, Oroku and more.
