About Me

I'm half deaf and short sighted, which makes me sad sometimes. The rest of the time I'm as cheery as a very cheery thing, except when I'm not. I talk too fast and too loud and I use big words like 'modest' and 'disheartening' that people don't understand. I can't help but analyse music while I'm listening to it, which is starting to annoy the hell out of me but I can't stop.
I am a working woman. I drive a Corsa and work in a laboratory. In January I am going to Fiji for a while. When I come home, I'm going to England for a while. In England I will learn about Biochemistry at a University. That's a lie. I will drink myself silly and not learn anything, but it won't matter 'cause I can wing life.

I play piano, trumpet, and guitar. I 'play' harp, bugle, and banjo.

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet Zacharius Braffius.
A younger Zacharius Braffius.
An IRISH younger Zacharius Braffius with a penchant for people called Jenny.
That, my friends, would be hefty awesome.

Other people I'd like to meet would be people with hearing problems, people from the area, people with harps who don't wear velvet robes on a daily basis, people called Dylan Moran, and, in fact, anyone who thinks we'd get on.

As for listening to music, I probably like the same stuff as you. I'll listen to pop and all it encompasses to classical, from jazz to world music, from techno to 80s synth and everything inbetween.
Except Nickelback.

I never used to watch much telly.
Then I realised we had the Disney Channel.
The sad thing is that I'm only half joking.
Scrubs is my favourite. It has affected my vocabulary and mannerisms in more ways than one would think humanely possible, which is annoying when people don't know what I'm talking about, but since I've converted most of my friends into Scrubs fans this doesn't happen often.
I'll also watch Desperate Housewives, and that Skins one isn't half bad, judging by the pilot.

Books:

I need more books to read. Please recommend some to me.
My favourite book of all time is Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. I've never been so moved by words on a page. Okay, and pictures. It has some amazing photography skills in it too.
My dowager favourite book is Dead Famous by Ben Elton, and can be summed up with the following phrases: Big up Ben Elton! Respect big time for a top, top book. Wicked. I'm currently reading This Other Eden, which I'm really enjoying. This is good because I haven't enjoyed the last few Elton books I've read quite as much. Looking forward to Chart Throb on paperback, as I'm a cheap shit. Also I just read The Analyst by someone which was pretty cool.

My heroes are Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Fantastic Four, The Famous 5, Brian, King Arthur, ITV Monkeh, Chris Lewis, Curious George, Miffy, Chuck Norris and Gandhi.
Not Spiderman though. I just don't admire him.
