About Me

Le Vert hotel, founded by Chris Wurfel in 2005, is a collection of friends from around the world, concentrated in a hotel and bar. Its our dream come true, to introduce people to the mountains, ride all year round with our friends and bring fresh live music and djs from around the world here to perform in our small but top vibe bar. Located at the bottom of one of the worlds most beautiful national parks in the french Alps, le vert hotel offers all year round entertainment, in the summer there is climbing and trekking, mountain bike riding and parapente...in the winter we have skiing and snowboarding ... with an onsite rental shop to provide you with all the gear, and guidance you need. At night we have a lounge bar and live music venue, bringing you some of the worlds best artists and Dj's. Associated with Fingerlickin records in the UK, we have already had sets from : Soul of man, Utah Saints, A Skillz, Scott Nixon and Greg Dread! We also had the pleasure of experiencing the voice of Marcina Arnold, (twisted blue folk) Barney Bass, and Tugg the drummer (Basement Jaxx) who came and rocked the house! In what seemed like a completely synchronized plan, three musicians who had never met, did a show that was nothing short of spectacular! We are now building a recording studio so we can edit and master our shows... which will also be available to those who want to hear them on our site and maybe an album at the end of each season who knows! Also for anyone that would like to spend time recording, producing or writing here. (this location is ideal for that!) for more details please check out our website.... http://leverthotel.com.. a

Our first international artist was Greg Dread (Dreadzone) he wrote......"the best weekend of the year so far as an unexpected last minute offer to come and play at a new club/bar in Chamonix in the French alps was too good to pass up. An old friend and dj/lighting/visual wiz Chris (Oldfield) was living out there and involved with a hotel called Le Vert in a prime spot. The offer of free ski/snowboard lessons were an extra enticement, not that i needed that as i had never taken to the slopes before. After a London city airport hop to Geneva i was soon in the French alps and getting to know the locals. Everybody was very friendly ... after some drinks I retired to prepare for the special trip of the next day which was a cable car ride to one of the highest points in Europe right next to Mont Blanc. I have never been to such an altitude before (12000 feet) and was literally quite high for most of the day. At night, as the party slowly swung into action, i felt the above the clouds inspiration take over as people warmed their apres ski limbs into shape to a journey of electro and breakbeat action during a three hour set. it ended with girls dancing on the bar and all kinds of ski season mayhem. a truly wicked night which can't be relayed in blog form but luckily it was recorded into a G5 hard drive so will be available soon. the next day the clearest blue sky meant a slow stroll round the beautiful town of Chamonix admiring the towering range that gives the place an awe inspiring backdrop. On the monday I finally made it onto a nursery slope for my first ever lesson on skis. thanks to my new found friends it was fun and their patience made it all the less daunting . i do have film of me gently moving down an incline which was worth all the falling over. strong legs are needed and i cant wait to get back on there soon. That was topped off with some apres ski beer in the amazing Micro Brewery Bar in town run by a Canadian guy who brews his own (great) beer in massive vats behind the bar. Big thanks to Chris, Dax , Joe Pescis double (top class cook) and all the guys and girls at Le Vert for a truly wicked time.. be back soon! " http://www.myspace.com/gregdread
