Alucard has a history way before this rpg, spanning from the games. To be as brief as I can: Alucard is over 500 years old, the dhampir son of Count Dracula. His sole mission is to prevent his father from taking over the world. At one point, he loved a woman named Sonia, the first Belmont, a family that also fights Dracula, but she died and he had to move on, being immortal. Alucard has slept away time to find Richter Belmont in Castlevania and later to fight his father in 1797 and slept again to the present day. Alternate versions of Alucard's life are available in fics I've done with him on the Castlevania site where the pic is from. A previous incarnation of Alucard in the chat was much lighter, but I dropped that because it was getting out of character. So I opted for this one, true to his form. His is a very dark path indeed...Alucard is the unofficial protector of the House. At one time he has sworn a vow to protect the House and its people. Rather comfortable with his feelings, except when dealing with grief. A creature of extremes in feeling, with an inability to take things in small doses. In a happy loving relationship with Koma and a close one with his soulbrother, Ran. It's not all about the carnal, but the dhampir readily admits it *does* have some perks. Strong friendships with Cye and Kenshin. Lord/vassal relationship with Mashira. Tries to be a friendly sort, but can be difficult to know at times. Oh, has this annoying inverse personification of his power that likes to pop up at times. Goes by the name of Chaos. The dhampir has had quite a year, going from inexperienced fumbling of basic feeling into someone with great command of his emotions, save one. Through the trials of courtship, he grew in love with Koma, the first for many centuries. They are never too far apart when their timing manages to swing them together. The grueling testing of Belmont versus immortal caretaker ended with Ran triumphant and the soulbrothers now bound by all means of love. Although each is firmly committed to their respective soulmates, they cannot deny that their souls entwine as well. It's been shown that Alucard and Ran are so firmly a part of each other that extended absence by either party affects the other adversely. And the fight of all fights has left Ran triumphant in sending the King of Vampires to sleep for another century. But Alucard is wracked with horrible grief. Never having grieved properly for his father in all his years, it's affecting him in disturbing ways, questioning his need to be "pretty" (cutting of the hair) and to be physcially unable to eat most of the time. Although he seems to be getting his mind around the concept of grief, the scenario illustrates a particular character flaw that could have lethal consequences if he did not have his loving family to back him up. His grief is turning him more and more into a wraith of his former self and there are many who are worried.
