Born on July 5, 1990, in Brooklyn, New York, into her strictly traditional, music loving, Italian-American family, Alessia was instinctively aware of the power of music in expressing her innermost emotions.
Under the direction of her father, Armando, the highly acclaimed singer/songwriter and classically trained musician and the long time family friend and producer Fabrizio Grossi (of Dave Navarro,George Clinton,Ice T,Tina Arena and Chili Peppers fame) she cultivated an informed and intense appreciation of a broad spectrum of musical styles, with a firm emphasis of Blues, Soul and 70s Rock.
Effectively tutoring her in the works of the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Stevie Wonder, and the Doobie Brothers, she came to the realization that music could be celebrated within a genre and yet allowed divergent individual expression.
At ease in the spotlight, her performance reveals the perfect combining of diverse musical styles she has mastered, while staying true to the spirit and artistry so reminiscent of her idols, Ella Fitzgerald, Janis Joplin, Etta James, and Billie Holiday.
Depression Blues, Southern Soul, 70s Rock and American Jazz, sensitively expressed together through her unique musical vision which speaks to the bittersweet experience of pain and joy, of doubt and hope, with the fierce passion that deeply moves and gives voice to those who identify with her.
Alessia is currently recording her well awaited debut CD between NYC and LA, with Armando Guarnera & Fabrizio Grossi as producers .
