Our church is considered “Nondenominational” which means we are not affiliated with a particular denomination but we are a part of the “Impact Fellowship International” which is headquartered in Memphis Tennessee under the leadership of Bishop Charles Rodgers. We are commonly known as being Holiness or Pentecostal church in nature because of the importance ascribed to the events that occurred on the “Day of Pentecost” as described in the book of Acts Chapter 2, as a necessary experience for all believers in Christ Jesus.Pastor Pierce was born on July 13, 1962 in Gadsden Alabama. He grew up, the son of a Baptist Preacher thus led to his learning about Christ at a early age. In 1976, after his family moved to Covington Tennessee, he began attending the Covington Church of God In Christ and it was there that he began to learn about holiness. After graduating from high school in 1980, he entered the United States Air Force and in 1983, married his high school sweetheart, Mother Phyllis Pierce. In 1989, the Pierces’ was assigned to Rapid City South Dakota and it was there that they began to go forth in ministry. It was there that Co-Pastor Phyllis Pierce received the Prophecy that God had placed a mothering spirit upon her and that would “Mother” God’s people. As the Pierce went to other locations, the people began calling her “Mother Pierce” without her even speaking of the prophecy she has received. Pastor Pierce was licensed and Ordained by his spiritual father, Bishop Lorenzo Kelly.Unspeakable Joy was birth out of a vision the Lord gave to Pastor Pierce in 1993 while living in Rome New York. The scripture God gave to Pastor Pierce was from 1 Peter 1:8 “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.” The Pierces’ arrived at Grand Forks North Dakota in 1994 and was asked by the State Overseer Bishop Michael Cole to assist him in starting a church near the Air Force Base in Emarado North Dakota. The Pierces’ accepted the challenge and began pastoring Victory Church of God In Christ – “A Ministry of Unspeakable Joy.” The church began to grow by leaps and bounds but then a prophetic word came to the Pierces’ that the Lord was going to send them to another location. After Pastoring Victory Church for 3 years, the Lord led Pastor and Mother Pierce to Fairchild AFB where the vision for Unspeakable Joy began to take form. Pastor and Mother Pierce began conducting weekly Bible Study classes in their home in September 1998 and they were led by the Lord they began Sunday Morning Services in December 1998. Pastor Pierce conducted an IMPACT Crusade beginning on December 3, 1998 and on December 6; Unspeakable Joy held our first Sunday morning service. To begin, services were held at the Days Inn on Sunset Blvd. After meeting in two other locations, God blessed Unspeakable Joy to move into our first building that was located on Highway 2 in Airway Heights. In the summer of 2002 the Lord opened a door for us to move into the facility on Ziegler Street and in June 2004, we moved into our current building.
