"Welcome to B-More, home of "The Wire", but there is more to Baltimore besides the HBO series "The Wire", and the high crime and poverty. There is an up and coming Hip-Hop scene that is starting to get a little attention. Recently we've had three artist to recieve major deals, and next up for grabs is an artist who goes by the name of Kode Street, which is derived from his real name Kodi Streeter. In 2004 Kode Street released two of his mixtapes entitled "The Come Up Vol.1 and Wut It Is Vol.2". Pushing his mixtapes throughout the streets of Baltimore showed that Kode Street was determined to be heard. The positive feedback then made Kode Street focus on a more important audience, the major industry market. In 2005 Kode Street released a single on the streets entitled "Baltimore". This self produced track featured former Def Jam artist Comp and caught the ears of alot of listeners. The single recieved rotation on Morgan State University radio station 88.9, and appeared on three mixtapes (DJ Radio-Street Radio Vol.1,Street Music TV Vol.1, and the J-Hatch and Inasirkl promotional mixtape entitled Nickle Bags) between Baltimore and New York. Besides Comp, Kode Street also featured on songs with Murder Inc. artist Black Child. Now it's 2006 and it will be Kode Street's year to shine. Kode Street has already appeared on mixtapes from Kayslay to DJ Radio, and has appeared on the DVD magazine entitled Baltimore Real Talk Vol.2, and Street Music TV Vol.1. But now for 2006, Kode Street already has some fresh new singles that are ready to give the industry that feel good vibe. Working with such producers as Mo Banks of Chocolate City/Russell Simmons Music Group, Wiz of One UP/Virgin Records, and Baltimores' own Club King Rod Lee. But of course the music has to speak for itself, and Kode Street speaks for the music. So check him out because you can only hate him or love him.
