JACK You’ll never get anywhere in life by doodling” is all young Jack heard from his teachers growing up as he turned the bland covers of notebooks into works of art. Little did they know that covering notebooks with skulls, dragons and wizards was just the beginning. A career in tattooing and body piercing would be well underway by the age of 18.From day one, Jack’s love of art, even his doodling on notebooks, was encouraged by his family. Considering New Yorkers have their own particular style and taste, Jack always had an insight as to what they want.Jack’s style of tattooing and drawing is simple; maximum color, the brighter the better. All Jack needs is your idea for a tattoo and he’ll work with you to come up with a custom design. Thousands of loyal customers around the Tri-State area would agree, if you’re looking for a custom tattoo or a piercing, Jack is the man to see.JAY Name: Jay C. Age: 23 Credentials: Tattoo City of S.I., Tattoo City of Point Pleasant, Gauntlet Manhattan, Tattoo Mania of S.I., and many others that will remain nameless. Specializing in: all aspects of exotic body piercing, new school and color bomb tattoos Bio: Starting piercing at the ripe old age of 14 years old by sheer will power and annoyance of those that were at the top of their game. . I just kept showing up and watching what they did every day until I made a good friend who was willing to teach me on their own time. By 16 I was finished training and he sent me on my way. It was after this that I starting taking the app seminars and reading books on human anatomy so that I could further understand my job and learn how to do things that no one else was doing at the time, well at least no one around here around here. When I turned 18 I realized that I had made a name for myself on Staten Island and I applied for a position as piercer at Tattoo City of S.I. I was hired and worked there for a little over 2 years. After that I worked at a couple of other shops. Now here I am, at Tattoo Mania of S.I. (the best shop on the planet). I’ve been here since the shops opening day, which was almost 6 years ago in 1999. This has been the first shop that I have been a full time tattoo artist at but if I couldn’t handle the work I would have been gone long ago. I have been tattooing for the last 4 years. You can go to the pictures of my work and tell me what you think, I’m sure you will not be disappointed.O'BRIEN 6O’Brien 6 was raised in the sun faring cities of Florida’s Gulf Coast. Being close to the ocean would begin O’Brien 6’s love affair with all things nautical. He began his career in 1991 with a 3-year apprenticeship with one of tattooings most colorful characters, Buck Brody. Honing his skills in the high-pressure environment of Florida’s Spring Break shops, O’Brien 6 adopted the unofficial “tattoo or die” motto. Enjoying a briny flare to his own personal art, O’Brien 6 has a range influences from Leonardo DaVinci to Captain Kid. “Being a tattoo artist is the closest thing to a pirate that you can be in the art world”.Receiving a formal education in Graphic Art and Art History from Gulf Coast Community College, O’Brien 6 specializes in portraits and the complex world of cover-ups. “Every portrait and cover-up is unique, that’s why I love them. You never do the same thing twice”.“New York City is the best place that I have ever lived and Tattoo Mania is the best shop that I’ve had the honor to work for”.
O'BRIEN 7 O’Brien 7 was raised on a small horse and cattle ranch in the sleepy rural communities of Northwestern Florida. Beginning his career at the age of 16 in the hard-boiled tattoo shops of “Spring Break” Florida, O’Brien 7 was trained in all manners of body modification, firmly believing in the idea that “the past is the torch that lights the way to the future”.O’Brien 7’s education was classical in every respect. He is formally educated in Drafting and Mathematics at both Gulf Coast and Arizona State University respectively. Owing all respects to his mentors O’Brien 6 (his brother) and Buck Brody; O’Brien 7 strives to uphold the spirit and high standards of his predecessors. His Cowboy approach to tattooing and body piercing is evident in his work as it is in his manner of dress. “Never be afraid of true change or taking the path less traveled, that is the true cowboy way”.“There is no end to the quest for perfection and it is the only path worth taking. I am proud to be a part of the Tattoo Mania team and look forward to years of future enjoyment here in the Big Apple”.
