About Me

Born Terrance J. Boatner in Monroe, La., 1977, determination has been made to be the first successful rap artist from his home town: Wisner, Louisiana. From rapping in the school's bathroom, to the 7th period Algebra, there is no doubt that, believing is knowing and knowing is believing. He started out with the stage name, Lil' Chil alone with three other members of a group called, N.D.S.. Through time, the group broke up in 1995 when Chil was relocated to Perry, Florida with his Godfather after dropping out of high school to persue his music career as an solo artist. December 95', his talent would take a turn for a more stable position when his Godfather bought him his first keyboard. From then on, he not only recognize his gift as an artist, but also a future music producer. As years passed and the sight of star dome moves further away, Chil then realize that Florida was not a place he thought that could benefit his career, so he moved back to Louisiana in 1999 to reunite with his former group mate Shondell "Low Down" Heard in Baton Rouge, La.. With promises to meet the Rap Don of the South, Matser P, his chances only slimmed. After a constant stuggle and no stable place to stay, he and Low Down desided to move back home in Wisner, Louisiana. Joined by a few home mates, they took a trip to Houston, Tx in hope of being discovered. Having a chance to open up for M.J.G., at a local club, they caught the ear of a studio engineer who decided to offer them free studio time to help them out, they put together a demo. After being offered a deal with South Union Records, Chil's career took a down fall when he found himself in trouble with the law. Believing in there talent, a man by the name of James Chester got a lawyer and free Chil in exchance of he and Low Down sign a contract. After receiving probation, he found himself not being able to leave the state, and the deal with South Union was cancelled. After they signed the two year contract, they begin working on there first album. Lil' Chil and Low Down as A.G.S.U (Another Ghetto Set Up). with a few songs to work with performed at a local talent show in Monroe, La., taking home the victory trophy, but to them, a trophy was far to less and was hungry for more. They've done opening shows for Mr. Magic, Mr. Marcelo, and Fiend of No Limit Records, B.G. of Cash Money, and U.N.L.V. and also child hood openings for Immature and the 69 Boyz. They later opened for R&B singer Ginuwine in 2001 at the Monroe Civic Center. A.G.S.U. stole the stage performing there hit song, "Big Ball'n" and creating a big fan base . Soon all played out and still no sight of star dome. The two of them broke up, again leaving Chil on his own. Lil' Chil then realized, it wasn't in him to be in a group and decided to become just a solo artist. In 2001 Lil' Chil former his own lable called, "K.M.G. Entertainment", with him as the C.E.O / Artist / & Producer. Chil was recognized for making beats a later decided to name himself, "Beatboy Chil". His first hit single,"I'm a Act" is current being played on the Baker Boyz radio show which airs in over 43 states nationwide. Also he will be featured on an up and coming mixed tape from the Baker Boyz Nick-V with a song titled, "Do Da Thang". With a new album in the works produced by himself and hopes of getting signed, there's no doubt in mine, he will soon be the next big thang smoking from the SOUTH.
