INNOCENT MAN
The irrepressible Mark Morrison returns in 2007 with his superb new album "Innocent Man", due in stores throughout the U.S. this fall.
MARK MORRISON was one of the most successful British R&B singers of the mid 90s. His breakthrough single RETURN OF THE MACK became a Top Ten hit worldwide in 1996, and opened the U.S market for him the following year, where the record achieved platinum status and reached number 2 in the charts. Morrison also sold 2 million albums in the US, a real triumph for a British urban artist. Although he became a commercial success nearly overnight, Morrisons career was plagued by run-ins with the law that prevented him from consolidating his position as a star. This however did not stop him from receiving a MERCURY PRIZE nomination, an MTV EUROPE award nomination, 4 BRIT AWARD nominations and 5 MOBO nominations, of which he won BEST RnB ACT.
After a 10 year break in which Morrison has matured and reflected he is now ready to take his music to the U.S. charts. His album INNOCENT MAN has already started attracting a great deal of attention in the U.K. through the play listing of the lead single and title track on CAPITAL RADIO, KISS LONDON, GALAXY NETWORK, VIBE FM and 1XTRA. The video is also on rotation on THE BOX, KISS TV and MTV BASE.
INNOCENT MAN also reflects the respect Morrison holds within the urban community and American artists as the album sees him collaborate with some huge players in this area such as; DMX, ELEPHANT MAN, ADINA HOWARD, MICA PARIS, ALEXANDER O'NEAL, FLOXY TREETOP, DAZ DILLINGER of Tha Dogg Pound and TRAY DEEE. The album has the distinct Morrison sound, and is also a welcomed return to the real sound of British urban music which has lacked certain elements in past years.
