kayaking, hiking, biking, camping, road-tripping, snowboarding, being friendly, learning how to do new artsy-fartsy stuff, reading, googling random shit, trying to be a computer nerd, painting, rollerskating, laughing...
old friends I havn't seen in a while, and hilarious people who have wild stories.
Music is the lubrication of life. Without it, suckiness ensues. I have my own personal jukebox inside my skull. You can find me singing often and off-key. Lately I've been listening to Snoop, Jazz Mandolin Project (Tour de Fluhh), Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Bob Marley, and Weezer.
I love movies. I might stay awake through one if it's good enough (or wierd enough to keep my attention). Sometimes I think I've seen it all so there's not too much left that I can consider "wierd". With most movies, it usually takes me two or three attempts because I fall asleep a half hour into them. The last movie I saw in the theatre was "Stop-Loss"...too cliche...but what did I expect, it was made by MTV. Some good ones I've seen recently are; "Paris, J'taime", "Juno", "Hot Rod", "Be Kind, Rewind", and "Into the Wild".
I live vicariously through the Travel Channel. I love Anthony Bourdain. MTV sucks, except for Rob & Big. Flava Flav and Tila Tequila make me want to vomit. I hope those nasty-asses get tested for STD's...seriously, though...Flava Flav (Flavor Flav? whatever...) looks like a cracked out gremlin.
Run DMC on Reading Rainbow!
Right now I'm reading
Some of my favorites are; "The Unbearable Lightness of Being", "Blue Highways", "Island of the Blue Dolphins", "The Red Tent", "Fear and Loathing", "Dead-Eye Dick", "Into Thin Air", "Into the Wild"...
"Heroification is a degenerative process...that makes people over into heroes. Through this process, our educational media turn flesh-and-blood individuals into pious, perfect creatures without conflicts, pain, credibility, or human interest." -James Loewen, "Lies My Teacher Told Me (Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong)".
