I love reading horror novels, watching horror movies, and pretty much anything scary. I also enjoy video games, especially RPG's. I am into anything technological, and love working with recording equipment. Anything mildly geeky, I'm probably into.
Maybe it would be easier to point out who I don't want to meet. If you want to hook me up with a "free" iPod, gift card, or XBox 360, show me naked pictures on your "other" site, convert me to your religion, or pad your friend list with strangers, do us both a favor and don't bother. I do not accept friend requests from people I don't know, unless they are a)a musician whose music I enjoy, b)a writer whose work I enjoy, or c)interesting in some easily recognizable way.
System of a Down, Pearl Jam, Phish, Led Zeppelin, Dave Matthews, the Beatles, Jack Johnson, Rage Against the Machine, Aretha Franklin, you name it, if it isn't "young country" I will listen to it. It just all depends on my mood...and whether the meds have kicked in yet.
I love all Johnny Depp movies unconditionally, even the bad ones (even I admit The Astronaut's Wife wasn't stellar. No pun intended). I also love The Princess Bride, Serenity, Braveheart (even though Mel Gibson is insane), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Punch Drunk Love. I hate all of Meg Ryan's movies (I wonder what would happen if Johnny Depp and Meg Ryan made a movie together...), and most romantic comedies in general. I love horror movies, especially older ones. Lately I have developed an obsession with the movies Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick, although I can admit that I may just be obsessed with Vin Diesel's muscles. I also love the Lord of the Rings movies, and anything Harry Potter.
There are a few shows we watch religiously, mainly House, CSI, Scrubs, and The Office. Other than that I watch cartoons almost exclusively. I like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Cowboy Bebop, Avatar, Invader Zim, and Venture Brothers. Also, my husband and I are proud owners of the tragically short-lived series Firefly, which I love.
I read a lot. More than is probably healthy. What's sad is that it sometimes doesn't really matter what I am reading, as long as I haven't read it before. I do have some absolute favorites, though. The Dark Tower cycle by Stephen King is some of the greatest fiction I have ever read. Anyone who hasn't read that needs to, even if you think you don't like horror. Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar is absolutely brilliant. It makes me depressed every time I read it though. Anything Kurt Vonnegut ever wrote is total genius, especially Slapstick and Breakfast of Champions. Neil Gaiman is another of my favorite writers. I love his novels, like American Gods and Neverwhere, but he also is the writer of my favorite comic of all time, Sandman. Terry Pratchett is quite possibly the funniest person ever to live, and I read his Discworld series compulsively.
In no particular order: Albert Einstein, Virginia Woolf, Sojourner Truth, Mahatma Ghandi, Sir William Wallace, Mary Queen of Scots, Mary Shelley, H.G. Wells, Stephen King, my parents, Randy, Dustin Daniels.
