Gerard / Colin John Band

Bassist, Creative Superhero & Master Of Disaster

About Me

I've enjoyed 20 plus years of in your face rock, funked-up soul, industrial-theatrical mayhem, over the top blues-fuzed guitars, and strip joints!

I had the pleasure of releasing records and touring with some great friends and groups over the years and came close to the "Holy Grail" a few times. I spent a lot of memorable weeks and months on the road from Austin to Boston, from NYC to Hawaii and from California to France. I was overwhelmed by the scenery and the people that I met.
I was honored to have shared the stage with so many notable groups like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Goo Goo Dolls, Gin Blossoms, Concrete Blonde, Eddie Money, The Smithereens, The Pretenders, Bon Jovi and many more (the list is too long to mention). These life lessons honed my skills as a player, designer, promoter, manager, and man.
I will regularly change songs on my site. You'll hear songs from In Fear Of Roses (3 releases), Indian ope Burn (2 releases), Paranoid Lovesick (1 and half releases), STRiP (2 releases), a fun stint with psychobilly artists Psycho Charger from NYC, 10 Cent Lovers (2 releases), and future songs from The Colin John Band (my present band mates) and my long standing project - the Drive by Saints (songs from the last 10 years).

Band Members: Gerard Dominick - I grew up on a farm near Greensburg PA, endured 12 years of Catholic school and finished my education at Greensburg Central Catholic HS before I could creatively reduce it to brightly colored burnt embers.
Then, on a night of drunken debauchery I had a choice of getting a tattoo - joining the Marines - or going to art school. So, I signed my letter of intent and went on to complete my Visual Communications degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Though the years at AIP went by quickly, I honed my creative skills, drinking skills, fighting skills, and prat fall skills and still managed to graduate!
I was then ordered to leave the state of Pennsylvania and migrated to Akron Ohio as a creative director/photo designer for many years before starting my own design & marketing agency.
MoreSkills - guitars, bass, low-vocals, cheese grater, adoration for the female figure, songwriter, composer, creative director, master of disaster, dancer, graphic designer, prat fall specialist, marketing, media specialist, consultant . . . did I mention . . . adoration for the female figure and all the parts in-between, vodka, beer, more vodka, tequila, and band security.

Sounds Like: Colin John Band sounds like Ben Harper and Stevie Ray riding in the back of 57' Caddy while Jimi Hendrix steers the wheel and Cream does the navigation! My other music varies from hardcore industrial mayhem to over-the-top, heavy rythym pounding pop/rock.
