Music:

Band Website: myspace.com/barleystreet
Band Members: Nick Baker on guitars and vocal, and a mix of friends including San Francisco's Dave James. . . . . . .
Influences: The ghouls down the street, real life, dreams and nightmares, and the unwavering ability to see the beauty, horror, and tragedy in every aspect of living on this wonderful and dangerous planet. But if you are looking for mortal music; Neil Young, Nas, Django Reinhardt, Doors, Robert Johnson. In the sense of influences throughout time... there are too many to list really
Sounds Like: I really don't know how to explain what I play on guitar; maybe a mixture of folk, jazz, flamenco, and fingerpickin' blues. I don't know, it just seems to erupt from me with speed and as it builds momentum haults to a dream-like pace. The result of dabbling too much here and there; an eclectic quilt of various techniques and progressions. There are currently no new songs as of late. Rainy afternoon is one that I have written for Omaha's Dave James, which he performs well I might add. The others are jams and improvisations. My lyrics are as mysterious as the music I play; they are often harsh and gritty, but can tell a fantastic story as well.

The Coyote and the Wolf pt1.

"Do you see death in me?" he asked with stones in his eyes and metal on his breath. "Yes." I replied simply. He didn't change his ominous guise.          &n...

A mystery unraveled

Okay if you are a woman, do not read this. You might get upset. I was writing and drawing in my journal about how women will always go for the asshole over the nice guy, and I realized its not a confi...
