About Me

i'm here for the bands and music only! (but i guess friends may come into the equation occasionally...:P) www.flickr.com/photos/cdrainbow for some random photos taken by me...Here are some personality quiz things i did cos they looked fun. and obviously i've only included the ones i think are sorta right about me in a very generalised sorta way. sorta.
You Are 5: The Investigator
You're independent - and a logical analytical thinker.
You love learning and ideas... and know things no one else does.
Bored by small talk, you refuse to participate in boring conversations.
You are open minded. A visionary. You understand the world and may change it. What Number Are You?
You Are 50% Boyish and 50% Girlish
You are pretty evenly split down the middle - a total eunuch.
Okay, kidding about the eunuch part. But you do get along with both sexes.
You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don't actively fight them.
You're just you. You don't try to be what people expect you to be. How Boyish or Girlish Are You?
You Are 50% Weird
Normal enough to know that you're weird...
But too damn weird to do anything about it! How Weird Are You?
You Are 12% Evil
You are good. So good, that you make evil people squirm.
Just remember, you may need to turn to the dark side to get what you want! How Evil Are You?

My Interests

playing/learning guitar (got Grade 5 in October...whatever grades mean), reading factual things (and Harry Potter), www.last.fm, music -listening/searching for new stuff/going to gigs etc, procrastinating on the internet, TV comedy programmes mostly e.g. Scrubs(!), cinema, slides, art, languages, learning stuff, talking to people from different countries...

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who wants to meet me. Any of the musicians in any of the bands i listen to [although i have already met some of them :)]. Anyone with anything interesting to say. I realise that 'interesting' is very subjective, therefore i leave it up to you to decide whether you think what you have to say is interesting or not!

Music:

Architecture in Helsinki, Modest Mouse, Green Day, RHCP, Matchbox Twenty, Bright Eyes, The Beatles, Jack Johnson, The Shins, 3 Doors Down, Sufjan Stevens, José González, The Kooks, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly , Jack Penate, the list is pretty much endless but those are some of the bands i listen to most at the moment. To get a better idea of what i listen to visit www.last.fm/user/dontquotemelast.fm is funfun. see here for what i listened to at the computer last week:MODEST MOUSE! everyone should listen, although you may not understand my love :/ ... Get this player (because if you're using Flash 9, MySpace will have disabled the link in the player itself)

Movies:

ALL the Disney classics! Garden State. Crash. Random "kids" films i.e. Ice Age. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. LotR. Das Leben der Anderen [the life of others]. not a film fanatic (they take up too much time) but i will happily watch anything that seems good or interesting. although i will not watch horror (willingly!)

Television:

Scrubs, random nature/science documentaries, Have I Got News For You, Friends, The Simpsons, Spongebob Squarepants, My Name is Earl, QI, Jonathan Ross, Later with Jools Holland, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Futurama, Family Guy etc. don't purposefully watch soaps, Neighbours occasionally...

Books:

i'll read most interesting/adventure/amusing/classic books. although i don't make much time for reading proper books unfortunately... mostly magazines. although not Elle,Vogue etc. because i genuinely couldn't care less about the content. i tend to dedicate any reading time to flicking through New Scientist and reading the things that appeal to me, or that i understand... (haha, yes geeky i know - but it can be interesting!) and most weeks i flick through NME and read most of it before deciding whether or not it's worthy of buying. also, i read all the comics in Private Eye cos they're funny :) Books i have read that were interesting/good: Catch-22, 1984, Noughts and Crosses, Jane Eyre, Dreamworld of a Shopaholic series, Harry Potter, Short History of Almost Everything by bill bryson, Windsinger series, John Grisham 'The Client' 'The Firm', Philip Pullman's Northern Lights trilogy.... Saturday and Atonement by Ian McEwan, Of Mice and Men, Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck

Heroes:

People who can make fun of themselves. People who can cope with adversity and become a better person because of it.
