Tim Jones BIO
Ok, here's the story. Born and raised in Norcross, Georgia, I fled home with my wife and newborn baby at the age of 17. I think it was the day after high school graduation. Moved to Buford, Georgia, where that happy story ended about a year later. I caught her with another man. That would've never have happened if they hadn't invited me over. She was an idiot. Anyway, spent a couple of years in Gainesville, Georgia, on WGGA Radio doin' 6 to midnight Rock 'N Roll. And it was there that I met my second wife. We never had any kids though we tried and tried and tried. Sometimes we tried 3 and 4 times a day! That ended about 5 years later. During that time I did some radio, was a Private Detective, a collections manager, worked in a steel mill, became a shoe store manager, and then a manager trainee for a drug store. Oh, and by the way, in that position you don't get any Free Drugs. So as you can see, I couldn't hold a job.
I got to LaGrange, Georgia, where I met my third and final wife, Beth, and her beautiful daughter Alicia. I was on the radio at WLAG doing two shows. One under the name of Tim Jones and the other show under the name of Eric Chase. While in LaGrange, I went from WLAG to the other station in town WTRP and then back to WLAG, apparently still unable to hold a job. Soon we moved to North Augusta, South Carolina. I spent a couple of years on the air at WGUS Radio playing country. This was about the time that the movie "Urban Cowboy" came out with Mickey Gilley, so I rode that wave. While in Augusta, we had a beautiful baby boy, Eric (actually Eric Thomas Jones...Beth wanted to name him after Eric Chase and I wanted to name him after Tom Jones). He was such a charming child. He soon grew out of it though. After that I became a moving consultant for a storage company. That lasted about 6 months. Rent came due so we moved to Thomson, Georgia. I got back on the radio for a couple of years on WTHO and WTWA radio doing mornings and napping in the afternoon. That lasted a couple of years.
Then I quit to manage a furniture store. I was such a success at that I was able to retire in about a year. I sold diet products part time to break up the boredom, then I got a job with some guys who owned 4 rent to own stores. Over the next 3 years we grew that company to 68 stores and I felt a need to break away, be on my own, do something for myself. So I quit. That was in 1987. I started Tim Jones Marketing and the rest is history! On my own I've been able to acquire an income most men only dream about. I work about 9 hours a month. Have a beautiful family who are working on there dysfunctions. I have appeared in over 40,000 TV commercials that have aired around the Southeastern US over the past 20 years. And my biggest problem now is deciding whether I'm gonna drive the Mercedes, Cadillac, or ride the Harley.
