Over the last 8 years, I've amassed an incredible amount of experience in the music industry, and music publishing, in particular. As senior
management for Foreign Copyright at EMI MUSIC PUBLISHING, my projects include releases by SEAN PAUL, the GORILLAZ, DJ MARK RONSON, and MIRWAIS,
just to name a few. As I always tell the aspiring artists, producers, etc., I
meet out on the scene, I take this music thing VERY seriously.
While earning my B.A. at SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY's Visual and Performing Arts and the Music Industry programs (now named THE BANDIER PROGRAM), I studied both the legal and corporate aspects of the business and continued in my major as an accomplished flautist.
College more than prepared me for a post-grad career that began with a
position as executive assistant to a label president at PROFILE RECORDS.
Following that, I joined the copyright and licensing department at JB MUSIC PUBLISHING, an independent label/publishing company where, given the nature
of a small business, I was responsible for several facets of the company's
operations.
This quickly progressed into a managerial position with ZOMBA MUSIC PUBLISHING. During the next three years, I worked within the company's
various labels including JIVE and VERITY, and logged a stint in the London
office for their worldwide catalogue. At the onset of litigation
proceedings in the case of Zomba vs. MP3, I was selected as a key team
participant to work with PROSKAUER ROSE, LLC at their corporate
offices.
Since then, I have created my company SILENT PARTNER INC., where I continue to develop and consult on
behalf of music producers and songwriters like YOU.
