About Me
Born of parents with Latin and Sioux Indian blood, Zertuche was raised in SoCal. The fashion & music of the 80’s & 90's were the fuel that inspired Touché to start designing & sewing at the age of thirteen. It was evident at a young age that this kid would go against the norm to create what he envisioned. At the beginning of his career Zertuche worked his way through the clothing business, running a tailor shop and later managing and buying for W.H. of Santa Barbara. To broaden his understanding of the fashion business and concept design, he became owner of the Santa Barbara Tie Co. In the late 90’s he moved to NYC. The city's energy and culture was the motivation he needed to tune his eye toward ready-to-wear high fashion. His wild concepts would merge creative design lines with contrasting fabrics, shaping his unique and diverse style. Here he gained experience in the world of high fashion by working & interning with Hang Feng, Betsy Johnson, Kenneth Cole, Marian Clayden and later Louis Verdad. While attending the Manhattenville School of Tailoring, he fine-tuned his eclectic style and developed his eye for fitted tailored clothing. Later translating his creative ingenuity into his first sample collection. Just a few of Zertuche styling credits include; Cat Glover, Parker Posey, Yewande Austin, Kim Cattrall & Sex in the City.
