Hailing from Portland,Oregon the members of Straitjacket have all been involved in the local scene since the late 80's. Coming from past Portland bands that helped create the "Portland" sound and scene in the 90's, now we are combining our love of early melodic punk with our many other influences.Drawing influences from a wide assortment of early punk music, Straitjacket carry on the tradition. Words and phrases like: melodic, snotty, tough, hard pop,catchy, and streetpunk have all been used to desribe our sound...you decide!Inspired by what great punk music has meant in our lives, success would be to make music that is just as important to others. With a stiff middle finger in the face of bullshit mainstream "punk", we seek to glorify the energy, independence, and DIY ethics of the real punk scene.Location: Portland, OR United States
