If you're someone else who happened upon this profile and you don't know what that means, don't worry, you probably don't need to.And for those of you who did just happen upon my profile, come back soon! More goodies to look at! EEP!

My Interests

arts and crafts, paganism, herbalism, karate, aromatherapy, sushi, rpg's, books, feminism, gardening, travel. I like lots of stuff beyond this; this was just off the top of my head.

Music:

Enya, Loreena McKennitt, Avril Lavigne, Sarah McLachlan, Christina Aguilera, Fiona Apple, Paula Cole, and much more. If you notice that there's a tendency towards female singers here don't worry, that's not an absolute rule (I also love Peter Gabriel, for instance) but I tend toward music that I can sing along with. Or at least have a shot at singing along with until one of them hits a note that could break glass...

Movies:

Titanic, Earthly Possessions, the Lord of the Rings trilogy... there's so much more than this but again, I'm going off the top of my head and I'll come back to flesh this out later.

Television:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer. BUFFY BUFFY BUFFY! I love that show. Some of the more current stuff I like is Smallville, Veronica Mars, My Name is Earl, and pretty much all of the Law and Order shows. Back when it was on, I used to like X-Files (which everyone seems to have heard of) and Nowhere Man (which as far as I can tell, I was the sole viewer of. No one else I know has ever heard of that show.)

Books:

I'll list authors, it's easier. Robin Hobb. Sherwood Smith. Laurell K. Hamilton. Terry Pratchett. Elizabeth Peters. Lucy Maud Montgomery. Nathaniel Hawthorne. Dave Barry. Sark. And nonfiction stuff that relates to my interests.

Heroes:

Mulder, the Disney Pocahontas (I know that the Disney one is NOT like the real one and I don't feel I know the real one well enough to comment one way or the other. But I can appreciate the story on it's own merits without coming down like a ton of bricks on the historical accuracy angle. I just look at it as two separate stories.) Buffy.I draw most of my heroes from media- books, tv, movies. I don't have any heroes that ever actually lived and breathed, although there are people I admire. I guess I look at a hero as someone I want to emulate, which is a higher standard then "gosh, she was cool." But if I were to choose some real life people that come close to my standards for heroes, people I admire deeply...Harriet Tubman, Margaret Sanger, Carl Jung, Lori Piestewa, Julia Butterfly. If you haven't heard of any of these people, look them up. Their stories are inspiring.
