Seit Sommer 2006 besteht Matre in der jetzigen Zusammensetzung und produzieren energiegeladenen Alternative Metal aus Berlin.
Nach einer Vielzahl von Konzerten (z.B. Kesselhaus der Kulturbrauerei und im K17), gingen Matre ins Studio und nahmen ihr erstes Album Forest Of Illusion mit 10 Titeln auf.
Mit perfektem Zusammenspiel und Songs voll druckvollen Riffs, eingängigen Melodien und mit überzeugenden gesanglichen Parts haben Matre das Publikum schon oft in ihren Bann gezogen.
Mit viel Energie, Druck und Spaß auf der Bühne sollte man sich mitziehen lassen und den Abend genießen.

2006
The band's first incarnation was born in 2000. Called Area51 at the time, it was founded by Martin, Tarek and Sivi.
After plenty of gigs, for instance at Kesselhaus (A Tribute to Kurt Cobain), at Knaack's "School Jam" and several other band competitions, at Toy Run Festival, some studio recordings and changes in line-up, Area51 officially announced they would split in June 2005.
After summer break 2005, the big search for a new style of music and line-up began. To extend the group's sound, an additional guitarist was added, completing the musically diverse and melodically creative band MATRE.
In 2006 they focused on rehearsing and did their first shows.
After inspiring holidays, MATRE kicked off with a new bassist and a bag full of ideas.
Since Summer 2006, MATRE has been playing in the current formation, producing powerful alternative metal from Berlin.
After a variety of concerts (e.g. Kesselhaus der Kulturbrauerei and at K17), MATRE returned to the studio recording their first long player "Forest of Illusion" containing a total of 11 tracks.
Their perfect team play and songs filled with thundering riffs, catchy melodies and convincing vocals manages effortlessly to put the crowd under their spell.
It's impossible to pigeonhole them.
Music and having fun creating it has always had higher priority than matching
categories.
