Burn Unit

About Me

Mashed-up beats and raw attitude of urban-styled music has been in the Burn Unit psyche since the mid-to-late 1980s when they cut their teeth on the hip-hop of that era. When Erik Fury and Grem reunited as adults, Fury was already an established Junglist deejaying all over the Southeast. After introducing Grem to the style, he was immediately drawn in. They began producing they're own tracks under the name StrikeSlip and having plates cut for Fury's bag.As their experience grew, their style evolved to a more refined, but harder sound. They renamed themselves Burn Unit and with a one-two punch released Gunshot, a searing fusion of Raga Jungle and Dark Drum & Bass; and Incubation, a dark and relentless nod to early Metalheadz that beat purists find irresistible.Even though they are always willing to experiment with different styles, Burn Unit tracks will always have the dark, rough edges that make the style their own.
