SLR Producer Profile for LASALLE GABRIEL
In 2004, an investment group led by LaSalle Gabriel purchased the legendary Flyte Tyme Recording Studios for $7 million dollars.
A music industry veteran for over 20 years, this Grammy award winning guitarist turned label exec has linked the boundaries between R&B, Jazz and Rock, lending his vast array of talents to such heavy weights as Jamie Foxx, TLC, Dallas Austin, Barry White, The Gap Band, Prince, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Jam and Lewis, DJ-Quik, Sheila E, Ann Nesby, Mississippi Mass Choir, Sounds of Blackness, Karyn White, Johnny Gill, Chante' Moore, Color Me Badd, After 7, The Brothers Johnson, Vanessa Williams, Cherelle, Cynda Williams, The Boys, Thomas Whitfield, James Moore, Vesta, and Lo-Key.
In 2003, Gabriel produced "Carry The Flag" by country artist Dean Justin, the song spent 11 weeks on the Top 10 Billboard Country Singles Chart peaking at #4. In 2004 he went on to co-produce, score and supervise post-production for 3 films for Paramount Pictures & Showtime, (imdb.com).
Switching gears back to music Gabriel produced & co-wrote the single "Delusions of Grandeur" for The J Project (IOM winner) the single cracked the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart peaking at #15 after spending 21 weeks in the Top 40. Most recently Gabriel produced the essential comeback album for 3-time Grammy award winners Sounds of Blackness. The album and single entitled "Unity" peaked at #11 on the Billboard Gospel Album Chart spending 56 weeks in the Top 40. The CD later won The Stellar Award for Best Gospel Album at the Grand Ole Opry in January of 2006.
In fact between 2005 and 2006 as a producer/songwriter, LaSalle Gabriel had a song on the Top 40 charts every week for an amazing 70 weeks straight!
After working with Gabriel for only 8 months, the legendary Barry White crowned the former songwriter for NBC's "Days of our Lives" as one of the Top 50 Guitarists of all time, a title Gabriel accepts with great humility and still works 100 hours a week to maintain.
Certainly no foreigner to the political arena as well, as a film and media consultant Gabriel has been an advisor to former Governor Arne Carlson of Minnesota, former Governor Scott McCollum of Wisconsin and former Attorney General Skip Humphrey.
Now this Grammy & Stellar Award winning producer/entrepreneur turns his attention toward building SLR Entertainment as a multi-genre, film, television and music powerhouse for the new millenium.
