In the beginning Yorn was looking
for a band, just because he had bought a guitar and he heard that
playing in a band learns faster.
During that same period, Daue wanted to start a new rock 'n' roll band
with Chuck Berry and Elvis covers to sing in.
The two met and decided to make a band together.
But they needed some more personal to start a reasonable band but bass
players were scared and drummers weren't available at all.
accept for Jouke, but he was drummer of allmost all drummers in the
region, so they dicided they wouldn't take him.
They searched everywhere for a reasonable drummer.
The next week they took Jouke after all...
The first time they decided to practice, without a bass-player, Daue
brought along one of his friends, Sjapke.
The most irritating, disgusting, scruffy, anti-social bastard you could
imagine... he had never even touched a bass.
Daue sang, Yorn played guitar, Jouke-Billy played drums and Sjapke
played bass. Begin December 2004, the first practice finally was a fact.
Only the Elvis songs prove to be to hard for them, so they played a
bunch of Ramones songs and some songs Daue and Sjapke had made once.
Cockshot had their first gig in the end of December in the Multiculti,
Stavoren, called Bokke de Vries and the BlackBeats GoGo Booze Band they
played 45 minutes together with 2 top 100 cover-bands, the results were
surprisingly fortunate.
Shortly after the first gig they fired Daue, he couldn't sing at all...
NDONOTBLOCKOURADSobody could remember the band name for some reason, not even the handy
shortening: BdVedBBGGBB.
So they decided to change the bandname to Cockshot.
After several changes in names and setting, they thought they had the
perfect combination:
Yorn on guitar and vocals, Sjapke on Bass and vocals and Jouke-Billy on
drums.
Jouke had to quit the band because of his physical condition,
Rocka-Willy replaced him March, 2006
