About Me

Born into a musical family, my talents and interests in a variety of instruments have been cultivated from a very early age. Along with the violin, I also play electric violin, mandolin, acoustic guitar, electric bass guitar, and drums. I like to sing and write songs, and have given instruction on violin, bass guitar, drums, and vocals to children, teens and some adults. I have been a coordinator and leader for church youth bands. Along with large-scale symphony and small ensemble performances, I have also performed at nursing homes, hospitals, churches, recitals, school programs, weddings, funerals, coffee houses, private parties, receptions, street ministry, jam sessions, and family gatherings. While at my high school, I founded and led a yo-yo club and was also involved outside of school with break dancing activities. In my senior high school year, I played the part of the Court Jester at the annual Madrigal dinner, entertaining through yo-yo tricks, acrobatic gestures, and friendly interaction with the audience.I have traveled to Brazil, Aruba, Turkey, Prague, Germany, England, Mexico, California, Nevada, Massachusetts, Arizona, Louisiana, and Mississippi, and am familiar with foreign currency and public transportation. I can speak a little Spanish.Work ExperienceFrom May of 2003 to June of 2005, I taught violin to children, teens, and adults at the Masters Touch School of Music and Performing Arts. February of 2005, I launched a music performance agency to hire students from the University of North Texas to perform for weddings, parties, and other social gatherings. The name of this company is Serenity Strings and it can be found on the internet at www.serenitystrings.com. Along with numerous independent and ensemble playing jobs, I was employed part-time by Denton Bible Church as a violinist, as well as for various small symphonies in the North Texas area. During my first semester of college, I chose a job as a night-time attendant for my roommate who had cerebral palsy. My work experience also includes two years of part-time piano touch up work for The Piano Store in Houston. My father has been a piano tuner/technician for the past 24 years and has taught me the skillful art of polyester repair and finish. He is the current president of the Piano Technician's Guild of Houston. I currently pursuing a Master's in Violin Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Houston. This summer I am working with a friend of mine to produce my first solo album or EP. It's very possible that my brother and I will combine forces and do an album together. I also have experience with recording string parts in recording studios for various types of projects. MyGen Profile Generator
