About Me

UPDATE: Upside Down Man is going on hiatus. Steve, Brook and I (Matt) have decided to finally get out of Calgary pack up and go to Toronto...and as some of you know we have been planning to do so for quite some time. But now the time has come all of a sudden and here we are. Josh has decided its best for him to stay here in Calgary, and the rest of us fully respect his decision. Rest assured there is no bad blood, some of us just right out need a change in our lives.
THIS IS NOT THE END OF UPSIDE DOWN MAN! We will be taking a break for an unknown period of time, during which we will continue to write music and seek out more influence. We WILL be back!
Also we would never have continued to be a band all of these years anyways if it wasn't for all the people who supported us over the years, weather it be by coming to our shows and rocking out, donating artwork, donating money, helping us get shows, and by being our friends. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ALL ARE! We are really gonna miss everyone out here. Thanks for the support see you all soon!
BIO: Upside Down Man was created from the ground up. The band formerly known as The Intended built a solid foundation and fan base by touring the country and playing as many local Calgary shows as possible. With the help of local radio airplay from CJSW 90.9, several internet radio stations, and a television appearance on A-Channel’s “Wired”; they quickly sold out of their debut self-titled EP along with selling a ton of merchandise. After the sudden departure of their former drummer, a fan of the band introduced them to Josh Cameron at a house party. Quickly finding that there was an electric chemistry with Josh after the first jam, Upside Down Man was created and were soon rehearsing 3 times a week at Slaughter House Studios and recording with new songs in tow. With their sound influenced by such bands as Strung Out, old Metallica, and Propagandhi, the aggressive yet melodic Upside Down Man are now ready to pick up where The Intended left off giving their fans a high energy show and are out to prove there is nothing that will stop them from gaining musical supremacy.

Sounds Like: "...blistering live set..." -BeatRoute magazine (April 2005)
"...musical schizophrenia is reflected in their songwriting. Chunky chords hang, suspended middair in classic Hum style before a Haunted riff comes galloping along to knock them crashing to the ground." -BeatRoute magazine (April 2005)
"Though most bands would balk at cutting a release so soon after forming, ...the EP demonstrate a group much more mature than their short lifespan would suggest."-BeatRoute magazine (April 2005)
"...cunning time changes and sharply honed riffs dig into the brain like fishooks..."-BeatRoute magazine (April 2005)
"Their style of music is hard rock with intervals of melodies, and the vocals actually flow with the music." -The Weal students paper (April 2005)
