Hi, I’m TonyAcoustic and you’re listening to my solo project, my main project, basically the only project I can call my own. I record everything you hear from the comfort of my own cramped apartment here in the “Sun City“ El Paso, TX. To help explain my name I stole a great fact from the dictionary. “The word acoustic is derived from the ancient Greek word a???st??, meaning able to be heard.â€- and that happens to be a goal of mine whether I scream or whisper. It’s true that I prefer acoustic guitar but I love to play all kinds of instruments. When I was 13 I started playing along with the radio on an old classical guitar my mom left to collect dust in the closet. The dial on my radio rarely switched from the oldies station. Growing up as an Army brat that moved around a lot it was hard to find band mates however I often played in other peoples bands even though I may not have enjoyed their music as much as they did. I started out recording on my boom box when I was in high school. Then moved my way up to four track recording when I graduated. So now I am 25 and still recording at home and still not able to find band mates. I started working on the songs in late 2005 with the intent of coming out with a full CD entitled “From the Pinewood“. In the beginning I was still using the four track tape recorder but after 4 months was fed up with the sound quality. I upgraded to digital recording to get a cleaner sound. Many of the lyrics are sentimental with a sense of humor on the side or just blended with too many Budweisers. I refuse to pick a genre unless I just make one up(perhaps hangover rock). I just love playing all kinds of music. I’ll finish this CD if it kills me but please have patience I happen to be a perfectionist who is also lazy. Thanks for listening.
