I am here for Friends

About Me

I am a copywriter who has a novel trying escape from the tip of my old school black ink pen. I will do my best to surpress it:) Clearly I have an addictive personality - My vices are: Jolly jammers. Tomatoes. The Office series. My Jagged Little Pill album. Damien Rice. Shy boys.I am: In love with Everyone. Out of love with everyone else. A little...tired, I guess.I can: Quote you every article in Tuesdays Heat Magazine. On Monday.I cannot:..Cook meat ..Eat processed cheese. ..Understand why my beautiful flatmate Alex eats Olives out of the bottle, and picks pickles out with a fork. ...Sleep.If you too are an insomniac, call me and we can muse around the coffee machine at odd hours. It'll be fun. And strange. And we will be over-tired and laugh at everything. Bring a microwave dinner. I will love you forever and we can be soul-mates if you are not averse to holding my hand.

My Interests

Reading what you wrote me. Knowing that you meant it when you said it. Knowing that you read this.Loving you in secret. Holding your hand underneath the table. Listening to you talk. Not remembering what you said. Calling you just to hear you smile. Ignoring you in public. Cyanide and Happiness.

Music:

is what I remember you by.

Movies:

I wonder if we could just go to the movies when there was nothing showing and just eat our popcorn, and hold hands, and you could tell me something I'd forgotten about.

Television:

Is just somebody's dayjob.

Books:

...are my live in lover. We stay in bed for hours and just talk (really) . The Piano tuner by Daniel Mason. Go read this book. Be sober when you do. I've not yet found a book I love as much as this one. The History of Love. This is the second most amazing book in the world. The book of the film of the story of my life. Things we Knew were true, Sleepwalking, The John Lennon Biography. I've just finished Catcher in the Rye by Salinger. It Was strangely beautiful. Re-reading God of Small things in Small doses. Still stuck on the letters and Diaries of Sylvia Plath. I am currently trying to finish a box of smarties while reading A little Piece of Ground. This is a brave book. Read it when you're sure you want to.

Heroes:

People who's live accidentally become books, are heroes. Words are heroes. I have a hero. Someday I will meet her, and we will have tea and complain that the sugar cubes don't dissolve quickly enough.

An afternoon tea is a grand affair

You are lucky to get a table here, I said. Especially one by the window, where you can read the paper in peace and glance up when she coughs into her handkerchief. Is she slightly ill?Oh, I've not seen...

Let's...

Let's go for a drink at a Bar,  let's hold hands under the table and curls our fingers together in a sticky toffee mess. Let's imagine we are younger than we are, that we don't know as much, that...

Naartjies

You should call me. You and I, we could have so much to talk about. The weather. The way the queen never makes the news. The way I love you more than silence, and biscuits, and the smell of naartjie...

I envy you

I envy you. You who can spend time with yourself. You who can call the person who put a cloud over your head and apologize for the mistake they made. "I'm sorry things have happened like they have."...

rush of blood

A bloodrush to the head. And I wake up, drowsy, on the floor. My eyes are swollen shut, I peep from their lids. The sun peeps back, darts beneath the dark, and coyly avoids my gaze. The stars are half...

Shy in the right places

You are beautiful like I can't explain. It's only that I don't know you yet. But you're shy in the right places and arrogant in the wrong ones. You're mixed up and tossed up and your heart is lost on ...

a long night

Of course, you're not here. I know because the bathroom is cleaner. My soap is where I left it. And you took all your things and half of mine. I hope, at this very second, that she is rearranging your...

Stuff

Ironic, when you set out to write something beautiful, about the slivers of the moon, and you look outside to absorb the colour and the feel of your object of illustration, and it's a full moon too.&n...

An odd emotional appearance

I have yet to understand you, or to lift a finger towards your odd emotional appearance. "Uncover yourself", I said, and you blushed and told me a story that was supposed to make me laugh and there I ...
