About Me

Gambit BIO:"Hit records are written, not produced... successful people will have success at whatever they do because there are common traits; they love what they do with passion, they think out of the box, they work smart, hard and go that extra mile to achieve their goals."- Mathew Knowles (Manager of ..1 All-Time female group Destinys Child, and CEO of Music World Music Label) If you were to compare this raw hip hop artist to anyone out there, not one would characterize this individual. With the raw flavor of the Wutang Clan, the hidden messages of Marley songs and lyrical genius and flow of Eminem, this is what Gambit is all about. He was born on November 6, 1977 in Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan. Due to the invasion of Afghanistan by the Russian Red Army in 1981, his family decided it would be best if they left the country they loved so much and move to the United States. They started their lives in a small home in Prince Georges County, Maryland and eventually moved to Springfield, Virginia in 1994. My parents are my best friends. They are first generation and hard workers. They always try to give us the best they can in life and have strong family values. They have helped me through a lot. Theyre the main reason why Im here today.Webster dictionary defines the word Gambit as one who strikes first for an advantage in the game of chess. And thats his style. In free style battles in the past, he doesnt wait for his opposition to strike, he strikes first. This is clearly stated and you start getting a feel for his style in first track in his UNRELEASED album. The album itself puts you through a story of his hip-hop life. Songs like Forget That gets you moving with a little reggae hook to it while with Untouchable, you get the lyrical assault that Gambit is known to do. Another lyrical masterpiece that has great meaning for those who bust their asses for The Man but hardly get recognize is Rise. The track has a hook that every new listener can relate to as well as motivate one to succeed and triumph over The Man.About three years ago, Gambit went through a bit of misfortune. While his emotions were running wild with his music, the record company that had signed him disregarded due dates. When the single was to be released, it did not happen. Now as saying goes, when it rains, it pours. His heart was in his music but at the same time of the debacle of the record deal, Gambit ended up losing his job. Soon after, while attending a party Gambit was harassed and eventually jumped by a few people for no apparent reason. He ended up with a couple of lacerations and doctors told him he may lose the sight of his right eye. But thanks to the doctor who stitched him up and a few days rest at the hospital his vision was not impaired. A mans nature is to retaliate after something of this nature happens and that is what he did. But he retaliated through his music. Still Standing is a re-enactment through song of this incident but then again it also shows that a persons words or lyrics can be just as powerful.Eminem, The Beastie Boys, Bubba Sparxx, to name a few, may have pioneered the change in the face of hip hop music. Those individuals who were once closed minded in the past about hip- hop music will soon open their doors once again. Gambit will soon join those pioneers with his unique lyrical approach. I am from another part of the world, but I live here. Im just like everyone else. I go through the same struggles, I see the same things. I want to give something back to everybody. Just wait and see, he will Rise to the occasion!"; I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
