About Me

LOCA is the result of the unlikely alliance of two people who, though very different on the surface, found in one another a musical portrait of themselves. Densely worded lyrics that speak of outrage and escape are lifted by the driving, urgent beats and rich, swelling melodies. Thumping, pounding drums and bass lines are transformed and elevated from mere dance inducing rhythm to become part of the chorus of voices that both tease and soothe in the same sultry breath.A life long urban dweller with strong ties to the local music scene and a boy from the hills of Tennessee with roots in southern gospel. A republican and a democrat. A recovering evangelical Christian and a non-kosher Jew. A straight man with a passion for dangerous girls and a gay man with a string of exes that could wrap around the block. What force of nature could possibly cause two men from such opposite worlds to be connected on any level?The answer lies in the words of our songs. They tell the stories of Perry Safer and Harvey Brown, separately and together. They speak of oppression and of freedom. Of the glory of older women, and of the addictive frenzy of youth. There are among them pictures of those that you might not otherwise notice, and of friends and lovers past.We invite you to join us on this, the first leg of our journey. Ours is a band created not by media producers or record labels, but rather by the urge to create and to share something that will exist forever in the collective consciousness of man. Our success depends entirely upon the willingness of our listeners to be brave, to be independent, and to close their ears to those who try to tell them what they should and shouldn't like or believe. True freedom lies in following our own inner voices, not the voice of the crowd.We are Ladies of a Certain Age: Redefining Revolution.
