First off, these pics and profile are all mine and real.
This has turned into a party boy profile. I'm not that bad, I swear! I'm what you call well balanced. Work hard, play hard. Working hard is boring and doesn't come with photos and videos to post, so you see me playing.
My (never updated) Homepage!
PS: Please don't be mad if I don't reply to all e-mails.
I decided to copy my (expanded and tweaked) "about me" from another profile
I have more space on here to write.
Hmmmm about me. Little old me. Born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota. Pretty happy childhood growing up. Survived Jr High with only a few humiliating experiences and entered glorious high school, which I loved. Played Trumpet, and I was a band nerd and didn't realize it; mainly because I loved watching the sports and I got in free. High school was the best.
Went to the University of Minnesota. A bit of trivia being it is the 2nd largest university in the country. Sorry Texas, you're number 3 now. I have a BS in Electrical Engineering. I chose double-E pretty much for two reasons. I knew nothing about electrical engineering and it was a degree that was "useful." But, I have never worked a day in my life as an electrical engineer. However, I still remember V=IR. I also know how to navigate the underground tunnels and "secret" corridors from the EE/CSci building about a mile to the bus stop on the other end of campus, only once having to step outside to cross a small street. This is useful when it's 20 below.
My first real job was as a LAN administrator in Minneapolis. I did that for two and a half years working on two now mostly dead products (OS/2 and Novell Netware 3.x). I did get to work downtown in a highrise building, which was pretty cool. I have to say I couldn't have asked for a better life than my time in the Twin Cities. Definitely phase one of my coming out in all facets of my life.
My second (and current) job is a network engineer (9+ yrs now at the company). I do Cisco routers. I was certified as a CCIE in 2001, which is Cisco's top certification. I try not to let my nerdiness out too much in public though. I'm probably the only CCIE who'll get up on the box at the club and tear it up, as they used to say in 2004. Not so much in Austin though. I got spoiled on the real clubs in Atlanta. (where it's looks first, job 2nd, looks 3rd, and personality 4th or something else like that.) But, I was seriously spoiled. But, I've discovered Houston is a lot of fun when they have a good DJ. South Beach is a great club. Montrose is also pleasant as can be. (I wonder how many 3 level townhouses they can possibly build there?)
I have lived in Austin since '96, except for a 3 year period between 2000 and 2003 when I transferred to Atlanta to work onsite at the HQ of a particular orange home improvement chain, in charge of their HQ store data network. Definitely the highlight of my career. (THD's IT dept. is top of the line) But I came back to Austin after that contract expired. I love Atlanta, my best friends are there, and I intend to return some day unless the Atlanta City Council continues to turn the city into a lifeless pile of stink filled with copycat condo towers and anti-nightclub ordinances-"c ya gays, thanks for revitalizing Midtown in the 90's. luv ya mean it, now leave."
And on to the rest of the story...or not. I'll leave the love life part for some other book. Always looking to add to it...but I'm picky. (hence why I'm single) And hopefully you will live in Austin too!
