About Me
Joachim Zimmermann is Joalarock. Born and raised in the depthts of the Black Forest he was hungry for the very untraditional. He started working as a press photographer at a young age and traveled to france and spain every year to go fishing for ideas. Mr.larock got hired to assist in a photo studio in a medium sized german town. He stayed for two years, with a map of Nice always crunched up in his hand, ready to iron it and put it back in the car.
And then it was time to move on to berlin. Clever. The city's heartbeat quickly wrapped him into a warm blanket of joy. From 2006 to 2008 he studied at the brilliant Ostkreuzschule under the wings of photography legend Sibylle Bergemann. Joalarock is currently workin for several magazines like "INTRO" and "persona non grata" to mention two. Where will he go next i wonder? He always wanted to open a Crepe shop in San Sebastian and show the folks there how it's done.
