My name is Monique, I'm a singer/songwriter. With my guitar player Thomas "Schneider" (Beatlesons, Spittin' Vicars) we startet a music project called Skuyela in 2002. Skuyela is the name a Lakota Indian prisoner gave me a couple of years ago; it is the short version of "Zintkala Skuyela Lowan Win" (Sweet Song Bird Woman). The Song "Hanble"/Dreams I sung in the Lakota Sioux Language. All song were recorded in Thomas' livingroom while I had to deal with a broken headphone. I couldn't hear my voice during the recording, therefore I think it is a kind of small masterpiece; also had to deal with some neighbours who sometimes knocked on the walls only to make sure our recording didn't get too loud. But when you love music you can deal with lots of shit. The only thing that counts is the music! Once in a while we play acoustic gigs in little clubs and bars, and people say our songs are catchy, groovy, and asskicking! What else do we need? You also can find me and Thomas profile here under the following myspace friends pages: the beatlesons, monique, rock'n'roll gypsies, corner boys. check it out and become a good friend.oh!.... and before i forget i also like to meet and make friends with native american indians/native american music groups also traditional drum groups here on myspace..
