About Me

"White Knuckle Rodeo are NOT mall punk. They are NOT "cause oriented", unless the cause is raising Hell, drinking beer, and trying to enjoy yourself on a Saturday night. I fuckin’ LOVE these guys. They have all the right influences, and in music like this, knowing the bullshit from the gold is really fucking important. I could hear bits of Johnny Thunders and the Dead Boys, little snippets of Social Distortion and the Flesheaters…and even really obscure bands like the Drags and Sweden’s amazing Demons (although I don’t know that the WKR guys listen to ANY of these bands, I have a feeling they are very aware of the feeling they successfully evoke with their music.)
I could go on and on about these guys, but I suspect that they’d think I was full of shit and overanalyzing what should really be heard and felt firsthand to fully appreciate it.
I WILL say this, they celebrate the finer (read: FUN) things in life, honest pleasures like drinking beer and dirty rock ’n roll, excess and abandon…AND they attract hot women without being the kind of pretty boys I usually want to kill. They do great covers of Joan Jett’s "Do You Wanna Touch", and a very punked up version of the Cars’ "Just What I Needed".
No bullshit. No pretense. Just good punk for bad people. I can’t give any higher praise than that."
