Just finished Duran Duran. the US/European leg of TOOL. on the Motley Crue tour & the Tori Amos spring tour, spent 5 months w/ Perfect Circle, they were wonderful. was out with Britney, Deftones & more.. there is Nothing quite like being on a tour bus. l was out w/ Rob ZOmbiE---what's next, hmmm?...doing local shows...Eagles...Foo Fighters...Rush...working...

Hellacopters. Leather Nun. the Gories/Mick Collins/Blacktop. Iggy. I like anything spooky, and old blues is always right listening. if i were to commit to a religion, it would be music. Otis Redding, the arch bishop. Elton John still works wonders, when i hear his songs from a billion years ago. Aerosmith:get your wings, a perfect album. Deftones. Johnny Cash. Steve Earle, oh my. B Boys. Tori, of course. i love "imagine ave" internet radio station, all soundtrack & film snippets...grant willard conspiracy. that silly sweet Rufus Wainwright. Run DMC. NIN, Mr. Rob Zombie, pink floyd's "wish you were here". as always, Ministry is the best getting-ready music Ever. Neil tipped me to thea gilmore and also the 6ths, which is pure love.
hmmm. this is main reason i am still living in LA after 8 years of too-much-traffic & too-many-people because there is a good movie theatre on nearly every corner. just came home from the Los Feliz 3, Diving bell & butterfly--a heartbreak of a story, saw 300, my heart is still on fire...GRINDHOUSE, loved it all, even that chattery boy QT's dialogue worked fine... goodfellas/blow/any & all Kurosawa/fight club/love the old swedish "seventh seal" /snatch/but my favorite movie of all time, probably has to be ALIEN. if i have to pick, which i do not. and "the prestige" was a haunted beautiful mess of magic tricks & illusion. wolverine & batman together, yes. IRONMAN, *sigh. RD jr. stole the film and i love that he is back.

from henry miller to newspapers, i will read it if it is printed..reading the account of the producers of NBK, what an education....j.g. ballard, palahniuk, amy tan, nabokov, david sedaris...of course, dreamking Neil Gaiman... not enough room on the page to attempt a list. books are my true addiction. just love the way they look & feel and how they take me away from this existence. better than any drug. i collect the Japanese puppet story books from the 1960's that are truly amazing, with the 3D cover plates. authors are this world's real superheroes. like i said, i am a bookworm, baby.
the real heroes of this world are artists & authors, anyone contributing their vision.
my parents J & A are my personal heroes. They marched on Washington for causes since before i was born. They stand for personal integrity in a way i can only try to in this new world order. I just saw them on c-span, sitting in on the town-hall meeting sponspored by the ACLU, debating the govt. spying on regular people...go Mom & Dad! cutest parents ever.
