About Me

Early in July of 2005, Mark (lead vocals & guitar) and Christiaan (bass, berimbau & backing vocals) found themselves searching for a third and final member to join Prevail. Someone who could beat the f@*K out of their drumkit, yet doing so with creative control. They then set up a selection of possibilities and started with the auditions. First one up was Kiki she was also the last! After Kiki played her first improv session with the band, they knew she would complete the trio perfectly. Kiki loved the compositions and shared the bands vision. Mark had struggled for three years to find members that would make Prevail a tight, dedicated energy of concentrated anger, combined with flowing melodic intent.Christiaan was the first suitable member to join Mark in Prevail. They met through Kenneth Smith, one of many guitarists who never furthered the venture with Prevail. Chris and Mark grew as musicians over the years and finding the third element, Kiki, had opened immense oppurtunities for them as a band. The newly founded Prevail incorporate a small selection of primitve and cultural instruments to their specific style of music, such as the berimbau and didgeridoo, yet still having a modern approach to the compositions and giving the audience a wider perception of where music originates from.Prevail are committed and determined to achieve overwhelming success in the very soon future, to make an impact within the musical world and to constantly bring different and inventive ideas across to the attentive, alternative and open-minded listener
