About Me

early works marks a turning point in artist terence leclere's body of work. whereas before he would mostly just play guitar and sing (if he performed any solo music live at all), shortly after moving to los angeles he begain experimenting with different lo-fi recording techiniques and different toy keyboards to come up with a sound that people have sometimes described as nick cave on a tape deck with syd barrett turning the knobs.keeping true to the moment, many songs in this collection were recorded with little to no premeditation. this resulted in honest conclusions and captured moments reflecting an artist attempting to contribute his musical vision to an overwhelmingly existent pop music world. incorporating such different genres as rock, dub, noise and dancehall, terence leclere has created, and likely continues to create, very much his own sound.he has since continued to make and act in films, compose and play music and pursue other artistic endeavors, though the collection of songs in early works (available only through bootleg cds and tapes) will continue to be known as a seminal terence leclere record, representing the many songs he wrote during this time (many of which are also floating around in other makeshift compilationgs), and exhibiting this transatory period in his career.antedated publications ©2003
