The Independent Music Society Of Portsmouth

About Me

Next year the University of Portsmouth will have its very own Independent Music Society. However in the spirit of independence it will probably not be at all affiliated with the university. This is for a couple of reasons; firstly because getting through the university society selection process is bloody hard and secondly affiliating ourselves with the university excludes the local music fans not fortunate enough to attend our glorious institution. Our plans are in their infancy at the moment however we have talked to several bands and artists who are interested in playing and a couple of venues in Portsmouth who would be interested in hosting an evening once a week. There will be a membership charge, probably around £30.00 a year, which for a gig each week in term time (30 weeks) works out at... well, you do the maths! If you're interested give us a shout, add us, tell your friends, let us know about great little bands that really should be much bigger. Feel free to question, advise, if you would like to be a part of the organisation don't hesiate to leave a message or comment. When concrete dates are confirmed (not for some time yet) then next band to play will have a song posted on the music player. In the meantime what is on the stereo will change regularly, giving an indication of what can be expected.
