In 2002, Da Volunteers released their debut album, Da Game. With 19 tracks all produced by Mike D., Da Game sold 10,000 copies on the streets. In July 2004, Da Volunteers dropped their sophomore album, Gunz and Rozes, independent in over 20 states and distributed by Select-o-hits. With singles like Jackie Chan, House and Home of Twankies (Remix), and We Da Truth, Da Volunteers gained major exposure. Also in July 2004, Da Volunteers shot their video to the hit single, "House and Home of Twankies (Remix)". The video is a part of the d.v.d. compilation, RapTv.Com. "House and Home of Twankies (Remix)" was also aired on Memphis, TN hottest underground TV show, UGTV, and rated ..1 on 1600 AM. In the Murder Dog magazine, Gunz and Rozes received 4 out of 5 mics and in the Streetmasters magazine, it ranked 13 out of 16 songs as hits. With 17 blazin tracks, Gunz and Rozes sold over 20,000 copies.
Da Volunteers dented the industry with their sophomore album release. But it didnt stop there. Already the hottest rap group in Memphis, TN, Da Volunteers (J.Rock and Noon), collaborated with two new artists, Kilo and C-Bird, to form V-Squad. In December 2005, Da Volunteers featuring V-Squad, released their mixtape, Da Bandwagon. It features some of the hottest artists in the industry including M.J.G., Dirty South Ridas and others. Although, there are mostly slick vocals, classic beats and samples, hit singles such as Favorite Color, Watcha Watchin Me 4, Strawberry 22's, G-Walk and We Da Truth - were all originally produced. These songs stand out tremendously on this mixtape. With 21 hot tracks, Da Bandwagon, has already sold over 20,000 copies. This is not a good mixtape; Its a GREAT mixtape.
As independent artists, Da Volunteers have been producing their own tracks, shooting videos and promoting their own shows since the beginning of their rap career. Just released on Halloween 2006, was the self-titled album "What's Yo Favorite Color". In April 2006, they shot the video to the hit single, "What's Yo Favorite Color" featuring M.J.G.
