About Me

With the digital era enveloping the music business more everyday, two words are starting to change the mold for modern music: Brandon’s Burning. Drawing their influences from Soul, Trip-Hop and R&B, this one of a kind ‘duo’ gives a breath of fresh air to today’s music industry. The singer/drummer combo delivers a powerful concoction of raw musical talent and longevity that only comes with great song writing and an enchanting live presence.------------Since his birth, Leigh Brandon Houison (the principal song writer and front man) has known nothing but music. Raised in London, England at the height of British Pop Culture, he is no stranger to the media and buzzing scenes such a city has to offer. His mother a Professional Singer and his father a Recording Engineer/Vocal Producer, music quite literally is in Leigh’s blood. He began taking piano lessons at the tender age of 5 years old and has been tutored by numerous modern piano and keyboard players from all over England. The idea of writing and performing music professionally did not interest Leigh until later on in his life, but growing up in the Houison household meant it was always a possibility, and in some ways, entering the music business in one form or another was inevitable.“I have never felt any pressure from any of my family to enter the music industry. They have always shown full support in what ever I chose to do, as long as I strived to be the best at it. It is solely my choice to make music, as there is nothing else in the world I want to do more.”Though Leigh may have not been a pro-vocalist, that didn’t stop him from getting involved in several professional projects during his early school years. He sang on numerous recording sessions including foreign television commercials and even a collaborative Christmas album that was released in Europe. By the age of 16, Leigh had sung back up for Elton John on the widely viewed National Lottery Show in his home country.Over the next couple of years Leigh put any thoughts of a music career aside and tried to concentrate on finishing school. Although he graduated without trouble, the incessant rise in London’s cost of living really began to take its toll on everyone. The constant strain made it increasingly hard for Leigh to find any inspiration for his music, and so in late 2001 (shortly after the September 11th attacks) his whole family made the conscious decision to move to America.-------------Shortly after relocating to the US, Leigh met established young session drummer/percussionist Matt Crowning (www.drummattcrowning.com) whilst both attending a South Florida university music program. Matt’s extensive insight into Jazz and Fusion rhythms instantly caught Leigh’s ear, and from then onwards fate seemed to throw them together. They worked on countless musical collaborations throughout their following college years; from Funk, Rock and Jazz groups, to writing music. The constant time spent together bonded their friendship and created an immortal working relationship.Since the inception of Brandon’s Burning, neither Leigh Brandon Houison or Matt Crowning have looked back, they are consumed with the desire to create and perform and both are determined to see the world through the eyes of their music.I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
