SON LUX is RYAN LOTT.
Ryan Lott is an award-winning composer, songwriter, and performer, whose music has been performed around the world, from NYC to Slovenia, and commissioned by numerous dance companies throughout the US. Ryan's uncanny ability to feel at home in any genre has earned him a reputation as an intuitive, versatile, and zealous collaborator. In 2005, Ryan was awarded an Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship, and his music was featured in the Works & Process Series at the Guggenheim Museum, NYC. His evening-length score, unbounded, composed for NYCs Gina Gibney Dance, received critical acclaim in the New York Times and the Gay City News. This work, in addition to Ryan's large-scale multimedia performance parties called CONNECT, involving simultaneous collaboration with dozens of artists, captured the attention of the region, and in 2006, Ryan became the Cleveland Arts Prize Emerging Artist Award Recipient. Also that year, Ryan spearheaded the premiere project of the ASH Ensemble, with his collaborative multimedia work, SHELTER, premiering first in Ljubljana, and then in the US at Cleveland's Ingenuity Festival. In June, Ryan relocated to New York City and joined the team at Fluid NY (fluidny.com) as a composer. He is currently working on his second evening-length score for Gina Gibney Dance (NYC), and putting the finishing touches on his Son Lux debut, At War With Walls & Mazes.
