Lets see... as well as being a full time student I am a composer (I see myself as more of a Bernstein than a Cage). I'm really into Philip Glass and post-minimal music at the moment (still trying to get my head around the new tonality!). I also play the saxophone; and that's me in a nutshell really. That's a really boring blurb... so if you want to learn anything interesting about me you'll have to ask, or speak to me on msn: [email protected]

My Interests

Music, philosophy, myself.

I'd like to meet:

Bach, obviously. Herbert von Karajan, Sir Ian McKellen, Philip Glass... close that ONE degree of separation between us!

Music:

Okay... here we go! J.S. Bach Mozart Beethoven Tchaikovsky Stravinsky John Cage Phillip Glass Micheal Giacchino Tuvan throatsinging Carl Orff Percy Grainger Rossini Mussorgsky Mahler Sibelius G.F. Handel Rimsky-Korsakov Paul Hindemith Arvo Part JJ Fux These are most of my influences

Movies:

Anything scored by Glass, anything with Adrien Brody in it, The Producers. I can't wait for Pieces of Glass to come out...

Television:

One word: LOST

Books:

Something funny, something that really makes you think, and challenges traditional perceptions. Gradus ad Parnassum and War of the Worlds are my two favourite books.

Heroes:

See music.

My Blog

Sept 3rd

Well, I just found out the McDonald's 'Name it Burger' has become the 'Backyard' Burger. Kinda similar to my idea of the Backdoor Burger, but I think Macca's was worried they'd have to rename Hamburgl...

New composition! (the ! should entice you to read)

Well, I did it. I just finished writing my first 'commissioned' composition, for a short animation. Needless to say I am fairly excited. The next hurdle is recording (I hope I am competant enough...

I Love Phillip!!

Glass that is- and I'm not afraid to admit it! I don't care what people say about his music- I think its genius. Here is a quote from him about the nature of his second symphony: "we have here tonalit...
