I'ma Southern boy; born in Birmingham, the son of an English teacher. The south has too many strip malls and too many crooked steeples, but I love this part of the world dearly. I love the hills, the turnip greens, the music (Mississippi River Delta music, Black Gospel, Americana / Roots Music, Bluegrass, Sacred Harp, etc... NashVegas can keep the Pop Country; its a product of Southern culture that I don't liken myself to). The women in the South let you do things like open doors for them; they accept compliments; they make a man feel pretty damned good about being chivalrous. See, if you take these honorable sentiments away from a man, then you've reduced him to a boy. The South is the Soul of the New World. We've given the world the best music in modernity, the best literature in modernity, Soul food and Cajun food, great philosophers, New Orleans, and Coca-Cola, Pepsi, & RC (I don't know if I'm so proud of that one). The New West is the mouth of the US - the media, the film industry, most modern entertainment. The mouth of this country speaks reckless words and its tongue is sharper than any double-edged sword (there's some timeless symbolism for you). The big cities of the North are the eyes of the US - big business, conspicuous consumption. Washington DC is the heart of the US - the heart is deceibtful above all things. But the South, the South is the Soul.
Currently, I am calling Nashville, Tennessee my home, but my roots spread far. Little pieces of me can be found in Orlando (FL), Encinitas (CA), Portland (Or), Waycross (Ga), San Marcos (Nicaragua), and all over North Alabama. I've written for and performed with many bands across the years - some very good; some very bad. I still write and perform with ATOMIC TANGERINE (Orlando, FL) and I am currently writing and recording music for RITUAL SOMETHING. Playing music and traveling are among the most pleasurable experiences in my life. Doing them both at the same time is a ménage à trois of sorts that no drug or physical experience could ever trump. I write short fiction occasionally and a poem once in a while. Despite my love for the South, my eyes are set on Japan. 2009... Japan, here I come.
Thanks for reading all of this. If you'd like to befriend me and enjoy some real conversation, then please be my guest. If you want to inform me about a ring tone or some cream that will make my penis larger, then please befriend another sucker (my penis is exquisite) or be prepared for my thoughts. Yeshua is The One... Peace and God Bless.
