Though centered in the southern hip hop sound brought to the mainstream by the likes of Scarface, Outkast, and T.I., the album contains songs with in the tradition of the New York hip hop sound as well as club bangers for listeners of dance music as well. Contrasts album was produced by Essco also of Left Lane Records. Unlike his low-key counterpart Contrast, Essco is known for his flamboyance and high-profile lifestyle. In the same league with Essco should be noted his cohorts: Alvin V.I. Rhone and Karlos K.B. Rodriguez. This trio brought Left Lane Records to the forefront of Greensboros Underground Hip Hop Scene (including, Frank Knam, From the Ground Up Entertainment, Blaque Bird), and Whitney J for Esgav Recordings. His debut, The Gateway is to be released in late 2007, and features NCs hottest artists. Contrast and Left Lane Records has developed a huge following on the underground scene as well as some dedication from fans of mainstream pop music.
