Nick Gutierrez came into this world on November 19, 1994 and from day one he has always had a mind of his own. He was very quiet baby until the age of two when he put on his cowboy boots, a pair of sunglasses and picked up his first guitar. He strummed away to his hearts content with a love of country music, especially Tim McGraw, Allen Jackson and George Strait. But at the age of six his world changed forever. In January of 2001 Nick was watching television and came across and Elvis movie marathon. He was completely mesmerized by Elvis and watched every movie, the entire weekend., in some sort of trance. After that, he wanted anything Elvis he could get his hands on from movies, music and books. It was in the fall of that same year that Nick was at Six Flags in Chicago and saw his first ETA who ultimately changed his life. He pulled Nick up on stage and danced with him. He had no idea the impression he left on Nick. It was after that day that Nick decided he wanted to be an ETA and it wouldn’t be until two years later that he would be reunited with the man that inspired Nick to become an Elvis Tribute Artist. They now have formed a friendship that will last a lifetime and it wasn’t until last fall that Nick found out that he too had an affect on Dave, but we will let Dave share that story should he choose to.MySpace Dividers
Since Nick began his tribute to Elvis, his main priority has always been to be true to Elvis and his dream is that he makes Elvis proud. He has been honored to travel across the country performing his tribute to Elvis from The Mall of America, to New York, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Georgia, Michigan and of course his favorite place in the world Memphis Tennessee. Nick’s first visit to Graceland was in June of 2004, where he got so emotional the first time he set his eyes on Graceland, but that was nothing compared to his first Candlelight Vigil....

It was last summer when we relocated to Memphis with every intention of making Memphis our permanent home. Nick was thrilled because we moved into Lauderdale Courts where Elvis lived as a teen, not just the same complex, but the exact same building. Nick would sit in the basement where Elvis would sit and play his guitar because he felt so close to Elvis there. He loved taking the trolley to Beale Street, especially The Gibson Guitar Center, from there he would go to Sun Studios and then shuttle over to Graceland. Unfortunately, we had to come back to Illinois but certainly did not leave Elvis behind, if anything he had grown an even stronger bond with Elvis.

Elvis has brought so much joy to my life. He has brought my family so much closer together, brought me some of the best friends you could ever ask for and for that I will be forever grateful. I have been so blessed to meet some of Elvis’ friends and family, from Jerry Schilling, George Klein, Patty Parry, Susanna Leigh, The Jordanaires, The Sweet Inspirations, Priscilla’s mom and dad and her sister Michelle. I have a great life and I have Elvis to thank for it.
