Would anyone object if I changed my last name to Potter? I mean seriously - I'm just one letter off.

About Me

The most distant galaxy cluster we can see from our planet is 8.8 billion light-years away from Earth.
The moon is 1.3 light-seconds from Earth.
Funny how little factoids like this can have a way of putting everything into perspective for you.
The kind of perspective that makes you realize what is important. What's not. What’s worth bringing home at the end of the day and what’s better left out of your life. Real black and white issues... because when you break it down, everything's black or white at the end of all things.
Imagine for a minute if you had the ability to forget all the petty, nonsensical bullshit in your life, leave behind all of the distractions and occupations that complicate things, and do what you truly wanted to do with your time. What would it be? Would it be something you've already done? Would it be what you're doing now? And if not... why not?
Life is too short and way too insignificant in the grand scheme to not fight for our passions, and instead be wrapped up in the perpetual suckage of time and our inevitable defeat by it.
Do what you want NOW. Fight for it like you need it!
Experience what your heart has always asked for. Dreams are meaningless if they are forever left on the pillow -- Do something with them already!
Because it's so much more fun to dream when you're awake...

My Interests

Watching diamond dust on the big, black velvet blanket of the ancient future.a

I'd like to meet:

Stephen Hawking; Matt Stone and Trey Parker; ANYONE willing to sponsor my trip into space so I can get on with my plans in the whole Zero-G thing already; Tyler Durden, Calculon, Han Solo, Peter Parker and Butters... if I were a fictional character; the teacher I had my freshman year of college who recommended that I do something else with my life instead of dance; Savion Glover (with his tap shoes on); Charlie Parker circa 1949; Michel Gondry, just so I can kick him for being so damn brilliant; that brave mother fucker who will someday be able to tell us what the sunset on Mars looks like; and a version of myself and all my friends from some parallel universe... just to make sure we're not the "evil parellel universe".
... Oh yeah, and my very first dance teacher, Dotty Locker, so I can tell her a little about what I've been up to for the past 20 years... and to tell her that it's probably a bad idea to tell your students to wear heavy socks with their pointe shoes so they can grow into them later. Just as a tip.

Music:

I can't deny Blue Veins by the Raconteurs. In general, anything Radiohead [including covers] is a pretty safe bet, and I've recently become quite of a fan of the beats by PJ Roduta.

Movies:

Fight Club, Spiderman 2, and (anything) Star Wars.
Everything else is irrelevant.
However...
Eternal Sunshine of the Spottless Mind is a beautiful mindfuck; Brokeback Mountain will rip your heart into little pieces over and over again; Boondock Saints is possibly the coolest thing EVER; I damn near pissed myself the first time I saw Groundhog's Day ; The Two Towers has won my consideration; Splendor is awesome... if you're into that kind of thing; and I'm totally going to hell for thinking Baseketball and The Money Pit are two of the best movies of all time, and I was certainly able to enjoy those Harry Potter movies alot better before I read the books. Blast!

Television:

"Don't watch tevevision. I don't even own a television! Notice how I didn't say tv? Because tv is a nickname, and nicknames are for friends, and television is NO friend of mine!" --Dylan
"...except for South Park and Futurama, I suppose." --me

Books:

Put it this way: I seriously think "Pearlann Potter" has a nice ring to it, no?

Heroes:

Stephen -- May you find The Big Answer to The Big Question.

The space continuum

I get yelled at alot for often going on about some very popular thoughts in my head. But I can't help it -- they're always on my mind, and if there's anything I'm pretty good at, it's speaking my tho...

the inevitable realization

It takes a while to see the big picture sometimes. The really big picture. Like when you glance up into a crystal clear night sky, how you can't possibly take in everything all at once -- it's just to...

the honest truth

I'm tired.Really tired. Not the "I should sit down" or "I need a good nap"-kind of tired, but the "I can barely focus straight"-variety of tired. Like I feel I haven't been able to turn my mind off fro...

Just Another Dot In Somebody Else's Sky

I run the risk of either sounding horribly cliche or dorky with this post, but I have to get something out there about what has been consuming a good deal of my thought lately; Something that has been...

Never what you intended....

Honest Intentions. Ive been giving intentions a lot of thought lately. Just intentions in general. Intentions of art. Of life. Like why did I start this path? Why do I keep on doing it, despite it ge...

"Ok... let's take this from the top again..."

Well, again? Is that the right word here? I know it's kinda what I'm doing with all this now. I've got this amazing group of dancers. I have my own place. The momentum is here and the ball is official...
